To support democracy by providing education, promoting a return to civil discourse, and encouraging greater civic engagement at all levels of government.

Who we are … 

The Bangor Area Democratic Association was formed to help give voice to those seeking opportunities for greater civic engagement at all levels of government.  In a system dominated by big names, big money, and party-line politics, it can be challenging to figure out how to get involved, so our goal is to break down those barriers and pave the way for your participation.

We believe that a democracy functions best when it welcomes a diverse set of perspectives and encourages robust, constructive civil discourse.

We do not tolerate ageism, sexism, racism, gender stereotyping, anti-semitism, islamophobia, transphobia, gaslighting, conspiracy theories, bullying, hate speech, or violence in any form.  (If we missed anything there, let us know and we can add it to the list.)

As a community oriented organization, our goal is to offer a variety of tools and opportunities for engagement.  You can join us for events, subscribe to our newsletter (when that’s up and running), or simply follow us on social media.  The choice is yours.
